Words that help

The Good News brought by Jesus is that we’re loved and we’re forgiven.  But what exactly do we do with that information?

We can love ourselves and love one another.  We can commit to loving our enemies and people we disagree with or don’t understand.  Love can be difficult work, but it’s always the right thing to do.

Here are quotes from the Bible and elsewhere that can help build love

Love Quotes from the Bible

“Teacher, which commandment in the law is the greatest?” He [Jesus] said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.” This is the greatest and first commandment.  And the second is like it: ‘Your shall love your neighbor as yourself..’ On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” –  Matthew 22:37-40

Love is patient, love is kind.
It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It is not rude, it is not self-seeking.

Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails.
